
No drone zone over Hyderabad’s RGIA for Dhankhar’s visit
The HinduThe Cyberabad Commissionerate has prohibited flying of aerial vehicles, including remotely controlled drones, para-gliders and micro-light aircraft over Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Shamshabad area on March 2. The order issued by Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty follows a memorandum issued by the VIP security division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which highlighted the increasing use of drones for aerial photography and live telecasts at events. It also warned of the possibility of terrorist and anti-social elements using para-gliders, drones or micro-light aircraft to carry out attacks. In accordance with the directive, State and Union Territory police forces are required to prohibit the flying of such aerial vehicles within a five-kilometre radius of State secretariat complexes and within a two-kilometre radius of vital installations.
