Google CEO Sundar Pichai says quantum computers that are practically useful are just 5 to 10 years away

Speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Google CEO Sundar Pichai talked about AI and quantum computing. Talking about the speed of technological advances, he said that we can expect quantum computing to also become more “practically useful” in just another five to ten years. In fact, responding to Huang’s claims, Google Quantum AI founder and lead, Hartmut Neven, suggested that quantum computing will become more “practical” than Huang imagines. He said that Google aims to release commercial quantum computing applications within five years.
