Anonymous Oscar voters confess not watching ‘Dune 2’; sparks outrage among fans
The HinduAs the world of entertainment is bracing for the biggest evening of the year, the 2025 Academy Awards, fans of Hollywood cinema should probably brace for some shocking revelations. Entertainment Weekly, which caught hold of four anonymous Academy voters to get an idea of their picks, one of them confessed something on Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. According to the entertainment portal, the director stated, “The first Dune, I couldn’t get through; I’m not rushing for another three hours of Dune.” The publicist apparently said, “With Dune: Part Two, I’d seen the David Lynch version of Dune, and I saw first one, which I was super bored by. The news of the voters skipping certain films has gained traction and has sparked widespread debate about the fairness of the Academy’s voting process. In Dune: Part Two, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem reprise their roles from the first film, with Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux joining the cast.
