
TN CM kickstarts work on Rs 1,652 cr Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme
Deccan ChronicleTirupur: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday laid the foundation stone for various development schemes worth of Rs 1,875.47 crore in Tirupur corporation under, besides also kick-starting the works for the long-awaited Avinashi - Athikadavu Ground Water Recharging Scheme at Avinashi. The foundation stone for development works including new water supply scheme with outlay of Rs 1,063 crore and underground drainage for extended areas with cost of Rs 604 crore was laid at a function in Tirupur by the Chief Minister in the presence of Tirupur district collector K.S Palanisamy. The Chief Minister also gave away Rs 2.50 crore worth subsidy for 1,000 beneficiaries under ‘Amma two-wheeler scheme’. Palaniswami also took part at a function at Pudupalayam in Avinashi taluk and to lay the foundation stone for the ‘Avinashi-Athikadavu Ground Water Recharge Scheme’, which is planned to be executed with outlay of Rs 1,652 crore.
