Karnataka government under fire for dropping Nehru, Tipu from list of freedom fighters

Telling the Chief Minister that dropping Nehru from the list of freedom fighters displayed cheap politics, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said: “Is this the level of slavery to safeguard the chair? The former Chief Minister demanded an apology from Mr. Bommai for insulting Nehru by not including him among freedom fighters in the KPCC president D.K. “Since the country is observing the dark days of Partition, Nehru was dropped deliberately.” Mr. Ravi Kumar also said that Tipu Sultan was not a freedom fighter and, in fact, he had sent Wadiyars of Mysuru, who were freedom fighters, to jail.
