Bengal, Tamil Nadu yet to inform about NEP implementation status: Centre in LS
West Bengal and Tamil Nadu are yet to update the central government on the status of implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, the education ministry told Parliament on Monday, adding that all other states have started the process. Remaining all states and UTs have initiated actions on NEP implementation,” junior education minister Annpurna Devi said in a written response to a question by Trinamool Congress MP Dibyendu Adhikari in the Lok Sabha. In July, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the Centre was working with the West Bengal government to implement NEP in the state and that talks were being held to iron out issues. Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin has previously said NEP will not be implemented in the state, which will, instead, effect a state education policy or SEP which is in the works.
