Deserted roads, empty gates at Kabul airport as US withdrawal enters final stages

As the final stage of the US troops' withdrawal approaches, roads leading to the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul have become vacant, latest satellite images show. Images provided by earth imaging company Planet Labs indicate that the main entrance of the airport that had been witnessing huge traffic since August 14 has become largely unpopulated since the bombings at the airport on Thursday. Similar dispersion has also been witnessed from the East Gate of the international airport, which has been closer to the airport terminal area.
