Baiyun's species richness boasts green development

On June 5, World Environment Day, Baiyun announced the results of a survey on bird species living within the district. This year's survey adds five second-grade nationally protected species, including silver pheasants and kestrels, as well as four key protected species in Guangdong province, such as intermediate egrets. To date, significant results have been achieved regarding Baiyun's protection of wild animals and plants, local media outlets reported on June 7. A silver pheasant, one of China's second-grade nationally protected animals.
