Telangana RTC employees plan massive strike over unpaid dues
Deccan ChronicleHYDERABAD: Employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation are set to lock horns with the government over unpaid dues, on the lines of the 2019 agitation when a 55-day strike prompted the state government to resolve their issues and announce a special revenue package to revive the corporation. Kamalakar Goud, state president of the RTC Telangana Mazdoor Union, said: “There are nine encashments which are pending since 2014. Similarly, we are being denied leave encashment, despite being eligible.” Maramreddy Thomas Reddy, general secretary, RTC Telangana Mazdoor Union, said: “As employees are facing difficulties, we are joining hands with all the unions. The government has repeatedly failed to fulfil the promises.” Ashwadham Reddy, who initiated a joint action committee, said, “The ground is set.
