Public place safety audit report suggests improvements to street lights and anganwadi kendras in Dasarahalli and Hebbal constituencies
The HinduA recent public place safety audit conducted by the Bangalore Political Action Committee has shown that around 54% of street lights in Dasarahalli constituency and 38% of them in Hebbal constituency are in poor condition or unlit. In one such audit, 20 ambassadors used the B.SAFE Constituency mobile application developed by CGI, a corporate social responsibility partner for the audit, to undertake the public place safety audit. Six types of public places that women access regularly — 76 anganwadi kendras, 92 bus stops, 54 parks, 10 PHCs, seven police stations, and 35 public toilets — were considered for the audit apart from streets.
