Android 14 and older users beware, your smartphone is at high risk of being hacked
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team has issued a critical warning about multiple vulnerabilities in Android versions including 14 and older. In the recent advisory released with the Vulnerability Note the government agency has highlighted multiple vulnerabilities in the Android operating system which if exploited, could allow attackers to steal your sensitive information and gain complete control over your device. Tagged as a high-risk vulnerability, the warning note by CERT-In has revealed flaws in various core components of the Android ecosystem, spanning the Framework, System, Google Play system updates, and hardware components from different manufacturers. “These vulnerabilities exist in Android due to flaws in the Framework, System, Google Play system updates, Arm components, Imagination Technologies, MediaTek components, Unisoc components, Qualcomm components and Qualcomm closed-source components,” reads the note. According to the CERT-In, these vulnerabilities pose a significant threat, as successful exploitation could give attackers a wide range of malicious capabilities, including: – Stealing sensitive information: Attackers could steal your passwords, contacts, emails, photos, financial data, and other sensitive information stored on your device.
