Telugu students wary to return to NIT Srinagar

Deccan Chronicle

Hyderabad: The website of the NIT-Srinagar is down, so are its Facebook page and Instagram account. The 130 Telugu students who returned home after the institute asked them to vacate the premises are in a dilemma on when to return. NIT-Srinagar student Jayanth from Warangal told Deccan Chronicle, “We haven’t received any formal information from the university about the re-opening. I don’t think we will return anytime soon.” Another student, Ratna Sagar, added, “Our friends in Kashmir cannot be contacted. We tried reaching them on social media and on mobile phones since we left but there is no response.” Sagar said the classes began in the last week of July and the students left on August 3, two days before Article 370 was revoked.
