Will Devin Booker’s ‘unsung’ effort in Paris earn the Suns guard more NBA respect?

New York Times

PHOENIX — In the closing minutes of USA Basketball’s gold-medal win against France, Devin Booker drove baseline, drew in the defense and fired a pass to the hottest shooter in the building. It’s the main reason coach Steve Kerr called him Team USA’s “unsung MVP.” On a team of superstars, Booker had become a role player, sacrificing scoring for whatever was needed, an effort deserving of praise. “He’s been on five teams in three years and he has the nerve to talk trash to me.” Booker was in his second season. As one of Phoenix’s shut-down players, Chandler said he might have felt differently had he played that night, but he was happy to have witnessed Booker’s performance.
