India's tobacco exports to cross ₹13,000 crore this year: Report
Hindustan TimesThe country's tobacco exports are likely to register an over 8 per cent growth and cross ₹13,000 crore this year, a senior government official said on Wednesday. He added that to ensure better price discovery and secure remunerative prices for farmers, the Tobacco Board has implemented an IT-enabled electronic auctioning system for FCV tobacco, the main ingredient of cigarettes. The board's primary role is to ensure the smooth functioning of the farming system, fair and remunerative prices for tobacco farmers and the promotion of exports.
