PM SVANidhi scheme: Know about eligibility and Rs 30,000 credit cards

PM SVANidhi scheme, launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, is a micro-credit scheme. It is pointed out that timely repayment of loans under this scheme helps in getting higher loans in the next cycle. In fact, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Budget 2025 speech announced providing credit cards under the PM SVANidhi scheme. She said, “PM SVANidhi scheme has benefitted more than 68 lakh street vendors, giving them respite from high-interest informal sector loans. Building on this success, the scheme will be revamped with enhanced loans from banks, UPI linked credit cards with 30,000 limit, and capacity building support.” The required KYC documents for availing the benefit under this scheme are an Aadhaar card and voter ID card.
