Review spotlights snail pace implementation of housing schemes in Anantapur
The HinduThe construction of houses under the PMAY Urban as well as PMAY Grameen in Anantapur district was not up to the mark, and beneficiaries were facing problems owing to a lack of basic infrastructural facilities, said chairperson of 20 Points Programme Lanka Dinakar on Wednesday. Mr. Dinakar said that under AMRUT 1.0 scheme, the Tadipatri municipal corporation was allocated ₹145.14 crore in 2017 for supplying drinking water to every household, but only ₹67.25 crore was spent. Similarly, in Guntakal municipality, only 1% of the works to provide drinking water to households under the AMRUT 1.0 scheme has been completed, he said. Mr. Lanka Dinakar wanted the officials to speed up the implementation of PM Surya Ghar scheme and achieve the targets by roping in self help groups.
