Over 2,000 personnel searching for missing Manipur man: Army to court panel

India Today

The Army informed a committee appointed by the Manipur High Court that it had been conducting extensive searches and deploying around 2,000 people each week, to locate the man who had been missing since November 25. A two-judge bench of Justices D Krishnakumar and Golmei Gaiphulshillu, constituted a committee on December 3 to look into the disappearance of Laishram Kamal, who went missing from the Leimakhong Army Camp on November 25, after the high court's order. The committee said that Captain Ashish Yadav of the 2/8 Gurkha Rifles had been nominated to assist the investigating officer in the case. The Manipur High Court directed the committee to file a status report on the case once every two weeks in a sealed cover before the Registrar General of the High Court.
