Amaravati capital works to restart on June 12
Deccan ChronicleVijayawada: The Amaravati capital works would be restarted from Uddandarayunipalem on June 12. “The government will resolve the issues of farmers in this connection,” he said.The CS said an action plan would be framed to speed up the construction works immediately after the swearing-in ceremony of the new government on June 12.The chief secretary, along with CRDA officials, conducted a whirlwind tour of the capital region of Amaravati on Sunday. He inspected various building constructions that remained stopped in the middle.The Telugu Desam government led by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, during its first innings iin 2014, announced Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh and established the AP Capital Region Development Authority. Designated CM Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that the three-capitals plan is shelved.The CS said that tor the past four to five days, CRDA officials have been carrying out minor repairs, removal of bushes and trees, and restoration of electric lights in the capital area by roping in 83 cranes and tippers, along the major roads in the master plan including the Amaravati Seed Axis Road and Karakatta Road.In 2015, when the foundation stone of Amaravati capital was laid, the present CS was the commissioner of municipal administration and urban development department. The CS also inspected the additional building complex of the high court that is already functioning.The chief secretary held discussions with CRDA commissioner Vivek Yadav, additional commissioner, SE and other officers of the engineering department.
