Rudd nabs Foreign Affairs portfolio
Prime Minister Julia Gillard's office has confirmed former prime minister Kevin Rudd will be Foreign Minister in the new Government. Stephen Smith has moved aside to allow Ms Gillard to fulfil her promise to Mr Rudd, the man she deposed as prime minister and Labor leader. In other ministerial announcements, the Prime Minister's office has confirmed that former small business minister Craig Emerson will be Trade Minister in her government. Ms Gillard is also tipped to have made the former climate change minister Penny Wong the new Finance Minister.
