Hyderabad: Votes cast, now 72-hour wait begins for people's verdict
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad: The fate of 1,821 candidates, including the main contenders, the TRS and the Congress-led People’s Front, was sealed in the electronic voting machines at the end of polling on Friday. It will be known on Tuesday whether caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will get another term or, to quote him, be confined to his farmhouse with the defeat of the TRS, whether IT minister K.T. Rama Rao will play a key role in the TRS government or quit politics as he has announced and whether TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy will get to shave his beard or not. Recently, while speaking to mediapersons, Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said he would not step into Gandhi Bhavan, the TS Congress headquarters, if the party did not come to power in the Assembly elections.
