I picked a bad week to be on vacation. Ohio State is known to have one of the best receiver rooms in the country every year, but it could go into next season with the best running back duo, too. Ohio State is one of just three programs in the Big Ten to return players ranked in the conference’s top 15 of pass rush win rate last season. Corners make Ohio State one of the nation’s most balanced defenses Ohio State had one of the best secondaries in the country last year, leading the FBS in passing defense and giving up just one completion over 40 yards. One player specifically that needs to see time in a consistent rotation next year is Mathews Jr. Cornerbacks coach Tim Walton hasn’t had a group as deep as this in his time at Ohio State, but he’s going to have to figure out how to spread the wealth because Mathews is too good to be the odd man out all season long.
