Police constable accused of murdering Dalian Atkinson arrives at court

Following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, two West Mercia Police officers were charged in connection with Atkinson's death. Former footballer Dalian Atkinson died in an ambulance after he was Tasered Judge Melbourne Inman QC rejected the defence's application for the trial to be held outside of Birmingham and a date for the case was set for September 14 next year. Mr Atkinson was Tasered after an incident outside his father's home in Telford in August 2016 The Crown Prosecution Service made the decision to press charges following a two-year probe.
