The Premier dismissed a media report that South Australia and Western Australia may be used as a "guinea pig state" to trial loosened coronavirus restrictions ahead of other states. "Unless we step in with this $190 million rescue package, we could see widespread business failure in South Australia," he said. Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas welcomed the announcement, saying that the cash payments would be "a welcome boost for thousands of South Australian businesses and organisations which are doing it very tough".
