In a post on X on December 29, 2024, Shobhit Shrivastava had advised people in their early 20s to invest in “productivity-enhancing tools and services”, such as a MacBook, noise-cancelling headphones, a gym membership, or a “maid” for household tasks. While several users didn’t mind the advice, many others found it problematic, prompting Shrivastava to clarify that his post was specifically aimed at programmers who had recently started earning a stable income.
