Ministry blames Telangana govt for delay in Nizamabad airport
Deccan ChronicleNIZAMABAD: Union minister for state for civil aviation Muralidhar Mohol on Friday said in the Lok Sabha that no proposal was received from the Telangana government to set up a greenfield airport at Jakranpally in Nizamabad district. Replying to a question raised by Nizamabad BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind in the Lok Sabha, Mohol said that the Airport Authority of India had conducted a pre-eligibility study at six places in Telangana state. For the new airports, obstacle limitation services surveys should be conducted and the consent of Union civil aviation ministry and other regulatory and statutory bodies must be secured, he said. He said that TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, Congress MLAs P. Sudarshan Reddy, R. Bhupathi Reddy should take initiative for the new airport at the state government level.
