As the Indian women's kabaddi team secured a gold medal in the final against Chinese Taipei last Saturday, India achieved its target of surpassing 100 medals in the multi-sport event. In the gold medal match at the 2023 Asian Games, the Indian women's kabaddi team established a 14-9 advantage over Chinese Taipei and maintained their lead throughout the contest to secure the gold medal. Meanwhile, after winning 3 gold medals at the Asian Games and India touching the 100 medal mark, Archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam said, “I am very happy that I was able to do what I had thought about how the shooting process should be, and I was able to get satisfaction from it.” Speaking on India archers winning 9 medals including 5 gold, Indian Archery Team High Performance Director Sanjeeva Singh said that this is the first time that we have won all five gold medals in the compound category.
