How major US stock indexes fared Friday, 1/24/2025
U.S. stocks edged back from their all-time high as they closed out a second straight winning week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.3%, and the Nasdaq composite fell 0.5%. On Friday: The S&P 500 fell 17.47 points, or 0.3%, to 6,101.24. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 140.82 points, or 0.3%, to 44,424.25. The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies fell 6.86 points, or 0.3%, to 2,307.74.
