'Shrek 5' officially announced, original cast to reprise their roles
India TodayAfter years of anticipation, DreamWorks Animation has finally revealed the release date for the highly-anticipated fifth installment of the Shrek franchise. The news was announced earlier today, July 10, at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas, where DreamWorks Animation showcased a sneak-peek of the upcoming film. While details about the plot remain scarce, sources close to the production have hinted that 'Shrek 5' will explore new territories, both literally and figuratively, for our favourite swamp-dwelling hero. In the CinemaCon convention, CEO of Illumination Entertainment, Chris Meledandri said, “We are thrilled to bring back the lovable, grumpy ogre and his misfit friend to the big screen." We can’t wait for audiences to experience it.” The original 'Shrek' film, released in 2001, revolutionised the animation industry and spawned a successful franchise with three sequels, as well as various spin-offs and merchandise.
