Concerns NSW councils' parking service fees via third-party apps could be in breach of state government rules

ABC

An "urgent review" has been launched amid concerns the parking meter systems charging many drivers across NSW could breach state government rules. PayStay, which operates in the North Sydney Council area, charges an 8.25 per cent service fee. Council responds to concerns North Sydney Mayor Zoe Baker said meters that don't require use of the app were "at least every 300 metres" in the council area. Simon Berry's hour of parking in the North Sydney Council area cost $6.90, but the total cost was $7.47 due to service fees.
