Reuters/File Photo Capitol Hill Democrats are pushing President Joe Biden to take aggressive action in his final weeks in office to counter President-elect Donald Trump’s expected plans to dismantle federal agencies and reshape them according to his preferences. “There’s a lot that the Biden administration can do, and I know they’ve done some scenario planning,” said Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif. “It would be a huge mistake not to prepare and put plans in place.” Reports indicate Trump is considering sweeping changes, including a possible purge of Pentagon leadership he perceives as “woke” and reshaping various departments. “We should do everything that we can,” said Rep. Juan Vargas, D-Calif. “He’s still the president until the last moment.” Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., suggested that Biden could amend union contracts to provide federal employees with stronger protections against a potential Trump purge.
