Why Wolves are targeting Atletico’s Brazilian pair Matheus Cunha and Felipe

The January transfer window does not open for another three weeks, but Wolves and new manager Julen Lopetegui are already pursuing their first targets. Brazil striker Matheus Cunha and his Atletico Madrid defender team-mate Felipe, also Brazilian, have emerged as two of Lopetegui’s main targets for the New Year, with talks between the two clubs already underway. Two scores that stand out immediately from Cunha’s pizza chart from last season are his 96 out of 99 for defending intensity and 95/99 for disrupting opposition moves. Felipe also scores extremely highly in all four attacking metrics, suggesting his actions often play a significant part in his team’s chance creation and goalscoring.
