Vizianagaram: Man gets 20-year rigorous imprisonment in POCSO case

Visakhapatnam: The Vizianagaram special court for POCSO cases has sentenced Padagasai Manoj Kumar to 20-years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,500 for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The case dates back to 2020, when the victim, a B. Pharmacy student residing in Bhogapuram mandal, filed a complaint at the Bhogapuram police station. Following the complaint, then DSPs B. Mohana Rao and P. Veer Anjaneya Reddy investigated the case, arrested Kumar, and filed a charge sheet under the POCSO Act. Special judge for POCSO court K. Nagamani, after examining the evidence presented by special public prosecutor Mavuri Shankar Rao and the witnesses, including court constable V. Satyanarayana and head constables Ramakrishna, found Manoj Kumar guilty of the crime.
