LDF set to control Calicut University syndicate

KOZHIKODE: The Calicut University syndicate will be under the control of the LDF by this month-end as the senate term ends by September 29. It is learnt that the state government would nominate new members to the syndicate committee, which in the absence of senate would have full power. “Though the LDF government assumed power one year back, we couldn’t implement our policies effectively in the university due to the lack of majority in the syndicate. However, once the term of senate expires, the state government can appoint their nominees to the syndicate and also retain the control after new elections to the syndicate,” said a present syndicate member.
