Sydney train commuters to face more disruptions next week as industrial action resumes, union confirms
ABCSydney rail commuters are facing more disruption from mid next week after rail unions notified the state government of a new round of industrial action. Mr Costa suggested bringing in former Sydney Trains chief and current Transport for NSW Coordinator General Howard Collins and transport executive Samantha Abeydeera to facilitate a series of "intensive meetings" between the rail unions and Sydney and NSW Trains to help break the deadlock. Mr Warnes said the pair were brought in by the former state Liberal government in 2022 to help "break the stalemate" during a fight about the new intercity trains. "We're going to continue to file these actions every day because we can't just sit back and allow the government to sit on its hands and come to an agreement," he said.
