
CUTN team invents a new class of colour-changing glass.
The HinduA new class of colour-changing glass deployable in a wide range of industries and domestic usage has been invented by a Central University of Tamil Nadu team. The team comprising Assistant Professor Srinivasan Sampath and a research student, Navya PV of the Department of Materials Science, has invented the colour-changing glasses which could reshape the industries ranging from architecture to automobiles, offering a highly functional and sustainable solution to several modern-day challenges. This versatile material, “Tetra Benzo Fluorene”, opens up new possibilities for dynamic, responsive designs in both residential and commercial spaces, according to a CUTN release. When used in automobile windows and mirrors, these colour-changing glasses can reduce glare from headlights, providing a safer driving experience, particularly at night.
