BSNL to roll out 4G network in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli cities soon

The ‘Samathuva Pongal’ festival was celebrated at the Thoothukudi BSNL office on Thursday. The celebration organised by the Thoothukudi BSNL’s Manamagil Forum took place in the office premises headed by the General Manager of Tirunelveli Business Area, S. Krishna Kumar. At the celebrations, the BSNL employees held placards about the campaign for BSNL 4G network and roaming WiFi services. Speaking to The Hindu about the expansion of 4G network Mr. Krishna Kumar said that BSNL plans to roll out the 4G network in Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi cities after the Pongal holidays, likely within two weeks. Mr. Krishnakumar emphasised the use of indigenous technologies in the 4G network developed in partnership with TCS and TEJAS and noted that the same equipment could be used when BSNL introduce its 5G network without requiring any changes.
