UNC’s Caleb Love to enter transfer portal: Why his choice was obvious

New York Times

North Carolina guard Caleb Love — the team’s leading scorer this season — will enter the transfer portal, he announced Monday. with love, the journey continues…🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/hnVddUAbo3 — Caleb Love March 27, 2023 Backstory Love, who averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, leaves Chapel Hill with a complicated legacy. But that said, Love’s efficiency tailed off this season — he hit just 29.9 percent of his 3-pointers — and UNC’s offense struggled as a result. North Carolina fans have largely blamed him for the team’s struggles this season, and the resulting backlash caused Love to scrub his social media accounts in the wake of the team missing the NCAA Tournament.
