T.N. government to buy 3,000 new buses; allocates ₹3,750 crore for road development

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday announced that ₹3,750 crore would be spent for laying new roads and repairing roads damaged during digging operations for drinking water and underground sewage projects. Replying to the Governor’s address in the Assembly, Mr. Stalin said villages near corporations including Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore, as well as municipalities and town panchayats, were witnessing rapid growth, and the roads in those areas would be expanded. New buses The Chief Minister also announced the government’s decision to buy 3,000 new buses to improve the transport facility in the State. He said 2,67,437 e-pattas had been given to the poor in the State since the DMK came to power and in the next two years, two lakh pattas would be issued.
