An Emotional Ke Huy Quan Moves Audience To Tears In Monumental SAG Awards Win
Huff PostLOADING ERROR LOADING Ke Huy Quan continued his emotional awards season run and remarkable Hollywood comeback, moving the audience to tears on Sunday night when accepting his Screen Actors Guild award for Best Supporting Actor. “To all those at home who are watching, who are struggling with waiting to be seen: Please keep on going because the spotlight will one day find you,” the “Everything Everywhere All At Once” star said in his speech, calling it “a really emotional moment for me.” Quan noted that he is “the very first Asian actor to win in this category.” It’s a distinction that simultaneously demonstrates progress for Asian American representation in the film industry, while also illustrating the long and frustrating history of Asian erasure in Hollywood.
