Forum champions open source for humanoid robotics boom

The Open Path for Humanoid Robotics forum, held at the West Bund Art Center in Shanghai on Sunday as part of the Global Developer Conference, saw a shared belief among industry leaders that open-source technology will be the key to unlocking the full potential of humanoid robotics. "Open source is the way to go," said Jiang Lei, chief scientist of the National-Local Collaborative Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center. The National-Local Collaborative Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center has spearheaded the development of OpenLoong, an open-source platform for humanoid robots, which has already received approval from the OpenAtom Foundation. "Humanoid robotics is currently experiencing a golden age of rapid development, becoming a crucial force in driving economic and social progress," said Zhang Hongtao, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization.
