Veteran actor Manoj Kumar has died at 87. Speaking with Lehren Retro, Manoj Kumar revealed the origin story behind the nickname and said, "Aksar jo achcha character hai uska naam woh rakh dete hain. Toh maine socha ke Bharat desh toh gaon mein basta hai, kisano ka desh hai toh uss character ke name main Bharat rakh dun aur uski zindagi mein jo kheton se juda hua hai, ek ladki aati hai, aise aati hai ke jaise koi jhilmil karti hui Kavita. “Humare desh ki public itni dayalu hai ke unko koi cheez genuine aur achchi lagti hai aur sachi lagti hai toh woh itna pyaar and izzat dete hain jo duniya mein koi nahi deta. During the same interview, Manoj Kumar also shared that after he received the moniker from fans, he never "touched a heroine" on screen, asking, "Who would take me seriously?”.
