Facebook wants to add pictures to database for facial recognition

Facebook is considering including public profile pictures of users in a large database for facial recognition. The social network announced the plans by an update of its terms of use, reports Reuter.The facial recognition database is used to help tag people in pictures and to automatically introduce people. The addition of public profile pictures will lead to an improved control over personal information, says Erin Egan, chief privacy manager at Facebook. Egan goes on to say it's Facebook's goal to facilitate a special technology so people can stay up to date with all the pictures they appear in on the social networking site.
