NGT Directs HP PCB To File Report On Whether Failure To Handle Waste At Village Dughneri Is Causing Air And Water Pollution [Read Order]
The National Green Tribunal has called for a factual and action taken report from Deputy Commissioner, Hamirpur, Municipal Council, Hamirpur and Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board, about the grievance raised that on account of failure to handle waste which is being burnt, causing air pollution, resulting in diseases and loss of livestock and contributing to forest fires and loss of wildlife, at Village of Dughneri, District Hamirpur. Accordingly, the bench directed the authorities to file the report within one month and directed that "Himachal Pradesh State PCB will be the nodal agency for coordination and compliance." It further directed that order be sent to the Deputy Commissioner, Hamirpur, Municipal Council, Hamirpur and Himachal Pradesh State PCB by email. The applicant may furnish a set of papers to the Deputy Commissioner, Hamirpur, Municipal Council, Hamirpur and Himachal Pradesh State PCB
