UP Waqf Board Mosque to be completed faster than the Ram Temple
India TodayThe Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board made history when it laid down the foundation on India’s Republic Day for the construction of a mosque in Dhannipur village in Ayodhya district, 29 years after the demolition of the Babri Masjid. In July 2020, the Waqf Board entrusted a nine-member trust, the Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation Trust, with the construction of the mosque. An official of the Waqf board trust estimates that after the formalities to begin work are over, the "mosque complex will be ready within six months of commencement, and the hospital will be ready in two years.” And the formalities are underway. Athar Hussain, the secretary and spokesperson of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation, says: “After the investigation report of the soil, action will be taken to get the required approval for the map of the mosque in Ayodhya District Panchayat.” He adds that the trust plans to include vast stretches of greenery which will have plants of different species from India and other countries, including from the Amazon rainforest.
