Elizabeth Quay: Ambitious timeframe for Aboriginal art gallery set by WA Premier

ABC

A national gallery of Aboriginal art could be constructed at Perth's Elizabeth Quay within five years, West Australian Premier Colin Barnett has predicted. "Sydney is in people's mind, the Gold Coast is in people's mind and we need to elevate, in my view, Perth," Mr Barnett said. "Elizabeth Quay, the new stadium, sinking the rail line, 2,000 new hotel rooms, suddenly we've got something to sell." "It all focuses on getting people into Perth and then we've got to get them to travel around regional Western Australia," he said.
