Potential asteroid collision detected

Samantha Donovan: Well if I tell you there's a 1% chance something is going to happen, you're probably not going to be too worried. But what if I told you scientists think there's a 1% chance a huge asteroid is going to hit Earth in the next few years? Isabel Moussalli : The European Space Agency says the asteroid meets the criteria to activate two UN-endorsed groups. Evie Kendal: So older designs include things like gravity tractors that would intend to slowly drag an asteroid to a different trajectory. Isabel Moussalli : Dr Kendal says while this asteroid has a small chance of hitting Earth, it highlights a big issue, a lack of international agreement about who's responsible for planetary defence.
