Two arrested for murdering friend over drunken brawl

The Chikkaballapura rural police arrested a petrol bunk attendant and a cab driver for allegedly murdering their friend over a drunken brawl on Friday. They lodged a complaint based on which the police swung into action and tracked down the accused identified as Vinod, 22, a petrol bunk attendant, and Abhishek, 19, a cab driver within six hours of the incident being reported. In the melee, Vinod and Abhishek allegedly assaulted Maruthesh with beer bottles and attacked him with a broken bottle, killing him on the spot. The police found the beer bottles at the spot, verified with wine shops in and around the area, and analysed the CCTV footage to identify the accused.
