Former captain Ricky Ponting has urged Australia to show some faith in Joe Burns and make him open the batting in the first Test against India in Adelaide starting December 17. The 31-year-old Queensland opener also struggled in the Sheffield Shield in which he scored just 57 runs from 3 matches but Ponting still thinks Australia should persist with Burns instead of the in-form Marcus Harris, who was included in the squad for the first Test last week. "What Marcus Harris hasn't done is score hundreds highest score is 70-odd, Joe Burns can score Test match hundreds. Ponting also suggested to move Matthew Wade up the order and make him open along with Burns which will also enable Australia to fit all-rounder Cameron Green in their playing XI.
