According to the internal report, Banwari Lal Goyal was caught by the Muslim rioters who taunted, “You have come to collect money using hands and feet,” after which his limbs were sliced. Banwari Lal Goyal’s family was also pressurized by former Lok Sabha MP late Dr Shafiqur Rahman Barq to ensure that no rioter was punished. Banwari Lal Goyal’s family left Sambhal and moved to Delhi in 1993 due to the lack of justice and constant persecution.
