Shinan officially implements garbage sorting regulations

The regulations on household garbage sorting were officially implemented in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on Jan 6. Several publicity activities on garbage sorting have been held in the district to spread the concept and a volunteer group for garbage sorting was also set up, which consists of over 60 people from local urban management departments. Volunteers wearing costumes spread the concept of garbage sorting to the public during a publicity activity held at May Fourth Square in Shinan district, Qingdao on Jan 1. Garbage classification involves all residents, and everyone ought to develop the habit of garbage sorting and contribute to the improvement of the living environment, said Xu Qun, director of the Shinan district bureau of urban management.
